How-To Safeguard your website from Hacking

In the constantly evolving industry of computers and software, Internet has taken everything to the next level of success and achievement. A range of websites is being developed every single day with startups already in the lineup to blossom in their respective business. With such advancements, there will surely be a dark side to it. Well, some websites are being hacked every single day, and loads of confidential data are leaked of various users around the globe.
According to Google Research, compared to 2015, a rise of 32 percent was recorded in the year 2016 and will not go down too early. Further, the hackers have mastered their skills to an absolute level of perfection and can hack almost any site for their useful purposes.

Common Website Compromises

Spam

Any spammer can inject content into a legal website resulting in traffic driving to a malicious or deceptive website.

Malware

Malware is any piece of codes which are written to provide detrimental effects on any data or devices. However, Google has frequently been providing warnings for such case.

Botnets

A network of computers is what the actual meaning of botnet is. It is remotely controlled by a group of cybercriminals known as the botmasters. They do several things such as stealing your passwords, bypassing antivirus and much more.

Here are the steps by which you can safeguard your Website from hacking

1. Sign up for the Search Console
Google search console is a free service which enables a user to monitor and maintain their site’s presence in the Google search engines. Once you have been verified by the Google search console, Google will send you some of the critical and hacking warnings which every user needs to take care of. If any user ignores such warnings, in many cases, it can prove detrimental in significant ways.

2. Keep security on top of everything
In this vulnerable world of hackers and intruders, site security should be the topmost concern of every user. Thus, it is advisable to talk with everyone who works for your sites such as developers, marketers and SEO professionals. Make them understand the importance of security and also depict some security mechanisms for their better understanding.

3. Keep backing up your site regularly
A backup of everything is a useful step and should be practiced in their day to day lives. Considering the websites, the webmaster should have a backup of his existing site because, in case of any malicious activity or cyber attack, he should be able to recover his website after all of the damages which have occurred during the cyber activities.

4. Keep your software updated
Updating software is one of the best ways to keep any site safeguarded from being hacked. Most of the sites are hacked because of outdated software namely the Content management system, plug-in and many more. Further, sign up for a newsletter and constantly read emails for reviving your obsolete software.

Apart from all this, Invest in HTTPS to safeguard your website by encrypting the transmitted information and saving it from intrusion and other malware activities.
